Just so people don't think I'm scamming them- here's some pictures of your custom wheels in progress.
ddavidn's M3 in Martini. About 25% done- the paint is seriously messy right now, and I've still got 90% of the striping to do. I do think you've got me addicted to painting Martini livery, though...
philiphilip's Camaro- Nearly ready to ship, just need to take off masking and knock in more black, particularly on the tires. Tinted windows okay?
GRAwesome's Cobra Daytona. Still stripping off the stock paint. Will be in as-raced dk. blue white striping livery. Taking my time so I don't mess up the form. Charger will be done once this one's done- given how flat it is, it'll take perhaps a day.

That's pretty cool. What kind of paint are you using?

Lots of different kinds. If you're looking for details, the only course to take is Games Workshop acrylics for stripes and flames. For body color, I use all kinds of one-coat spraycans, but I apply multiple coats. Brands include Valspar (white on M3) and Rust-o-le-um (flat black).

Nice, I'm tempted to give it a shot.

Nice! What do you use to strip the "stock" paint?

What do you charge?

Looking good! Looking forward to the final product.

I used to use a whole bunch of GW/Citadel stuff, but honestly, there's stuff with better coverage for less money. Unless they've improved in the past few years. Heh. Hehehe. Hahahahaha. GAMES WORKSHOP! IMPROVING! COMEDY!
Anyway, maybe take a look at Vallejo paints, I luv 'em.

Tinted windows are good! And the flames look awesome!

Dude, they HAVE improved in the last few years- at least for a while. Now they're kind of crummy. I've got good experiences with Model Master, but should probably look into Vallejo/Gunze Sangyo as my work now requires flat areas in uniform color. Thanks for the tip!

Depends. What do you want?

220-grit sandpaper followed by 1000-grit, then usually 1800 and 2000-grit.

Thanks! That sounds like a lot of work!

Darn straight, but go with a power sander or rougher sandpaper, and the finish is irretrievably scratched. It's worth it, though, because with bare metal, the variety of finishes you can get is amazing,

Hmm, I dunno, haven't bought any of their stuff in ages. I still hold a deep love for Necromunda, though.
Really though, the almost complete lack of DIY and freedom with miniature choice on tourneys, the monthly magasine that was more or less a binder of A4 advertisments and the shitty attitude twoards specialist games as well as questionable design choices have kinda not made me look back.
I do still have a huge amount of PDFs with old rulebooks and articles and can keep playing that stuff... FOREVER!

I only ever used the paints for custom minifigs , so I wouldn't know about that....

I didn't see this until I got curious from your latest post. It's gonna look so good when it's done!
